   One requirement is the or haner like we explained, but rav nachman teaches us that you need attachment as well. In isolation one will not be successful with his bedika.

  I first heard the Semmelweiss story in chiropractic school in the early 1990's.  Another good story to learn about is the argument between Pasteur and Beauchamp.   Western medicine is based on Pasteur's theory.   Pasteur admitted to Beauchamp's theory on his death bed so the story goes.  It is very worthwhile to understand Beauchamp's perspective.

  You are better off without sometimes!

  Gd is a counselor and healer!  He has no impure motives!  He does not depend on your money to survive!

  Read the road less travelled -- a man who knew he could not help a woman and used her for his agenda!  Human nature infects all things!

  The giving mashpia can be one of 2 types

  1. He might be a true giver who gives so that the other can benefit. Even if the recipient eventually outdoes the mashpia there is no jealousy. This is common for parents who are even proud of their children who outdo them. Think of the immigrant whose child gets into medical school. 

  2. There is the second type of mashpia whose giving is one of condescension and superiority. If the recipient outdoes the mashpia there will be jealousy. The giving was never to really give but to feel superior by the act of giving
