Why should Chana ask for a son? If Hashem wants her to have a son, she will have a son. No need to ask.

  Really?
  Sarah wanted a child and was upset for being Baron... Yitchok & Rivka both prayed for her to have a child... Leah had children and she still intensely prayed for more.. Rochel davened for a child... Etc etc... probably your next door neighbor who is childless is praying at this very moment for a child... but I guess you can't get pregnant so this doesn't really resonate with you as reality

Why do we have to ask hashem to give us everything we need, why do we need a trick? We don't have to ask our parents to give us all good things? They do naturally no matter how we act.
