By Performing a "Code Review" of My Brain's Patterns, I can Evolve rather than Repeat

Don't Reject the Divine Code Behind Your Emotions and Thoughts

1 hr 27 min

Class Summary:

This is the sixth of a series of text-based classes on a maamar, Chassidic discourse, by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, "Reishs Goyim Amalek," presented at the Farbrengen of Tuesday, 14 Adar, Purim 5715, March 8, 1955.

This class was presented on Thursday, Parshas Ki Sisa, 20 Adar I, 5784, February 29, 2024, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY.

The Divine soul is empowered to sublimate, not crush, the animal soul. Every emotion, thought, and instinct has behind it a "Divine code," which we need to explore and liberate.

    "Evolve or repeat"

What if the previous situation is good or great and any evolution is worse? We should evolve from bad or inferior things only. Not from good things. I.e. evolution or change must be if there is room for improvement not if the matter is as good as it gets, or the change is for the worse.

"Everything in the world is being created

    By Hashem's word"

EXCEPT man who was not created "yesh m'ayin" like everything else, but was made from pre-existing dirt, "yesh m'yesh". True that dirt was made yesh m'ayin but only man was made by Hashem from pre-existing matter, in a sense lower than everything else (except that after that a neshoma was blown in).

    The Rebbe disagreed with Rebbetzin

Garelik,  saying by her saying she can't do it, it was a mistake, she's saying the same about the mishalayach,  i.e. the Rebbe himself. Segue (yes, that's how it's spelt) that to Hashem as mishalayach.  So no one can say that they can't because that would mean He made a mistake.

Yet, we have the Madoffs of the world?! Did Hashem send him to rob countless victims?

    Avraham was the first.

But....don't we know that the yeshiva of Shem and Ever existed both before and during Abraham's life. In fact later when Rivka had a shaila about the pregnancy,  she DIDN'T go to the shver, but went to that yeshiva. Why then does Avraham get so much credit and we don't ever mention the yeshiva which were the relay of the menorah from Adam? And, further,  why did Avraham have to figure it all out on his own when he could have and should have gone be a Talmid in that yeshiva?

Machlokis if Avraham had an inn or

An orchard. Maybe he had both and the orchard supplied food for the guests?

"Ein od Milvado" yet when I'm threatened

I can only think of myself.

But...don't we see that this was true even for Adam Harishon?  He (and she) put himself above "ein od milvado"! How can we be better?
