We say Krias Shema twice daily
Why then also at other times, like Yom Kippur, taking out a sefer Torah, on the cusp of death, etc.?

A wild horse is full of power, uncontrolled
But it's power isn't harnessed for good.
The bucking bronco must be broken. Broken, but not killed. A dead horse is useless. But a horse that's broken and tamed, i.e., harnessed can now be ridden on, hitched to a wagon, etc. We sublimate but do not destroy

We don't want to extinguish someone's fire ...
Another paradox. A fine line between what to do, how to behave and what not to do and how not to behave.

What then, of the 85% of yidden who know not of Kriah Shema?
