heartbreaking story indeed...

Interesting that Alter Rebbe was able to hold composure by Mazricher Magid, but was not able to do the same when he was hazering Hassidus. Like the story " Pachdecho" in Hayom Yom. Based on your story The Alter Rebbe and the Rebetsen, that he says what he heard from his Rebbe, the question is even stronger...

falling down to lift up others
That was an interesting point you made about when you fall down inevitably, When You Reach back up you lift up others with you.... This is just a thought, but Billy Joel is an indescribably famous and wealthy Jewish celebrity piano player. When he was in his twenties, before becoming famous, he attempted suicide.. I don't know what he went through to finally pick himself back up again, but there are millions of people across the globe whose Spirits he has definitely been lifting for the past 30 years ever since

שמעתי היום התוועדות של י"ט כסלו משנת תשע"ד ושם אמרת דברי הבעש"ט על הפסוק קל נקמות ה' קל נקמות הופיע, ובתמצית הביאור היה דהאופן שהקב"ה מראה נקמתו אינו ע"פ פירוש הפשוט של נקמה ועונש, אלא דכל חסרון בעולם בא מפני שאין שורה עליו אור אין סוף, והוא חסר קשר אם אלקות, וא"כ האופן שהקב"ה מראה נקמתו הוא ע"י זה שהוא ית' מופיע אל האדם, ומראה אותו אור של אלקות ואז שהקב"ה מופיע לו הכל מתוקן ע"י אור זו. והנה בי"ט כסלו של שנה זו שמעתי את התוועדות אשר אמרת דברי הרבי ז"ל לבאר התחלת הגלות ממה שראובן היה עוסק בשקו ותעניתו , ואין מקומי לכתוב ביאורים ארוכים רק אשלוח את המראה מקום ודי לחכימא ברמיזא, עי' בשל"ה הקדוש תורה שבכתב מאמר צאן יוסף על פרשיות וישב מקץ ויגש, והביא שם דמה שאמר ראובן אני אנה אני כו' התיבות אנ"י אנ"ה הם ראשי תיבות ק"ל נקמו"ת ה' ק"ל נקמו"ת הופי"ע, ולפי מה שביררת הופיע הוא גילוי, ונכלל בגילוי אלקות ואהבה מהקב"ה הוא אהבת ישראל דהיינו אוהב מה שהאהוב אוהב יותר אהבת ישראל, וא"כ אפשר שאמר דאם היה לו כראוי הענין של הופי"ע לא היה אירע דבר זה
