    Which version of the midrash?

    Rabbi Jacobson,

Do you remember which version of the midrash (you site at least 6) suggests that Nitzevet and the maid consulted Achiyah HaShiloni?

    converts are not "the kahal"
It is clear that converts are not part of the kahal. Since I am a convert I am now interested in knowing how this impacts my an my family's spiritual life. Are my children able to marry "regular" Jews (those Kahal's members). Are there things we are not allowed to do, because they were designed for the kahal only?

    status of Dovid's birth
Since the midrash tells us that Yishai's separated wife took the place of the shifcha canaanite for the conception of Dovid, would this unawareness of the identity of the wife with whiom Yishai was having relations  not also cause a blemish on the kashrus of the conception of Dovid hamelech?

    If not why not?

    Thank you.
