12-step programs
Hi Chaya,
I see the 12-step meetings I've been attending for the last 14 years as a healing program to 'recover' my Divine soul, connection with G-d, and fellow man. Keep it up!

I'm not sure what 12-step fellowship you are in. I am in the one for healthier relationships. I think that seeing oneself as diseased is only necessary in the context of preventing oneself from engaging in speech or actions that harm another person. (For example, an alcoholic who treats family members poorly while under the influence.)
If the disease concept doesn't fit for you, replace it with whatever you and your HP decide.
Integrating IFS with CoDA for me is thinking about my neshama at my core. It is impossible for my core to be diseased. However, I have an anxious part that I developed very early. So when I befriend that part with compassion and strength I am moving towards health. When I fight that part with fear and anger I am moving towards disease.
