Hashem desires constant nonstop lifelong teshuva
Teshuva as a way of life. Never resting or satisfied.
Why?
Suppose Hashem had created people who are perfect, or even who could reach perfection and rest there. That would be akin to robots or angels with no free will or yetzer Hora.
Rather, Hashem desired people to constantly fall and rise and fall again and rise again. This system best exemplifies true free will and battling--and defeating-the yetzer He planted within us.
This constant fall and rise, constant state of teshuva is what distinguishes man from angels and robots. This is the purpose of Creation.

Rotzon/will is higher than intellect/reason
And if you explain WHY you want something, then that's not what you want, or even the real reason. The real reason is pyre unadulterated desire. Simple desire with no reason or explanation. Kids embody this in purity and simplicity. Adults dress up desire with logic, intellect and reason precisely BECAUSE they can't simply say: "i want it because I want it" witn no reasons.
And so Dr Lamm says that he has finally reached the center, the real driving force of a patient when they say "just because I want it" with no reasons, explanations, or logic.

This is why what looks like sin to a person of flesh is not sin to the person of Eden touching Gd through the same act!

Only when the Eden of self-conception is broken, will we seek the Eden of Gd!
