Hi everyone its the birthday of the rebbe today sunday י"א ניסן and i am so humbled to share the same day as my birthday too.

Just a small thought i had this morning whilst saying the akeidah:

Avrohom Avinu was told to bring him up there for a עולה burnt offering. This sounds like the avodah of amah ivriah - neshamah- etc.

Then the malach tells him And he said, "Do not stretch forth your hand to the lad, nor do the slightest thing to him, for now I know that you are a God fearing man, and you did not withhold your son, your only one, from Me."

How could we understand the contradiction of the two commandments which seem to not work together?

Perhaps i may suggest that the avodah of the "naar" is like the avodah of the "eved" which is a lower avodah then the "amah" and the malach is telling avraham that even though tehe avodah of the eved is a lower avodah you should not belittle it and see it insignificant and thats what is intimated by thewords
