  I thought the Chassidus shiur this morning was brilliant and transcribed the last part of it to really get it and internalize it. I am sending you the transcript because I thought maybe you could use it in a future article. Your Chassidus shiur is such a pleasure to wake up to and when it cut out this morning, I was "devastated". However I then used the time to transcribe how you encapsulated so succinctly what covid19 is doing on a cosmic level, it was like "techias hamesim" and I will get on with my day rejuvenated. Thanks for the daily inspiration!
  
  What covid-19 ,Corona virus is doing among all the other things that's doing this - I'm talking here from the introspective perspective - is people suddenly realized that so many institutions and habits that was so much part of life are not really life - they're chosen - they become part of life but it's not life. And we didn't do it by choice. Everyone had Pesach plans, everyone has workplaces, everyone has school but suddenly this invisible creature, the size of 125 nanometers, the coronavirus, changed the planet. And suddenly everyone is quarantined and now you have to really ask yourself the biggest questions, and the biggest question is - what is life – and - what are the things I do to enhance life and do they enhance life or do they become a distraction of life?
  
  That is a very profound meditation about life and there are situations that challenge you to go to that place, because all of the hype and all the attractions are gone. You know what it means for millions and millions of Americans – there's no sports games, there's no movie theaters, there's no malls, there's no restaurants, no bars, no clubs, l'havdil in other communities no other places that they go to, attractive places. So what is there? What is there? You have to go to things that are unchangeable that the virus does not change and that distinction is very very powerful in life because now is a time of crisis but can you take that with you post crisis? May this disease and infection end very very soon and all those who need a refuah shlema should have a refuah shlema and the whole world should be cleansed but can I take this consciousness with me to really ask what is life and what is an accessory for life? So a lot of things are very powerful but they are “kasa” they're not real. How do I know they're not real? They don't last. When things change, a person's life changes, a person's health changes, the world situation changes, they can collapse as fast as they came even though when they were so powerful. So the Mishnah says that this river is called a false river.
  
  It's true also psychologically and emotionally. Sometimes you feel elated and inspired and enthusiastic - you are on your honeymoon – and it's amazing, it's beautiful, it's exciting- but how true is it? How true is it? Is it just a high, because of different external realities, but what might happen is - in a day, a week, a month, a year - it may fade away. The candle will be extinguished, which means even when it was here, how true was it? It was more circumstantial - I was in the right place, at the right time - it hits me from this angle, from that angle. Enjoy it but don't delude yourself that this is where it's at. Because real, real truth - Will Never Fade Away. There's no circumstances that will cancel it, there's no time or space that will be empty of it, there's no situation where you won't need it, there's no situation where you say get this out of my life, forget about it, and you come back to those core truths that don't dissipate. I think this is very, very important. That's why now, now we are in a war, but there's always opportunity - every crisis is an opportunity. The Jewish people were chosen to be the lamplighters of the world, that's what the Tanach teaches, that's what we believe. Whenever in history did we have the attention of 7.7 billion people who have nothing to do - don't want to hear about sports, don't want to hear about the next elections, don't want to hear about politics, don't want to hear about the new movie or the new Oscars – nothing. They only want to hear is - what is life? What are we holding onto? What are our values? If the Jewish people are not going to rise to the occasion now, when are we going to rise to the occasion? If the Jewish people are not going to rise right now to the plates to impart the consciousness, the consciousness of Truth...

  Baruch HaShem  you are a treasure to the Jewish people.  I have been listening to your shiurim and events more and more. You greatly enhanced and brought meaning of Pesach for myself and my family. May the Almighty bless you with long life and good health to continue being the shinning light you are in this dark galus. 

   

  Keep on inspiring, teaching and uplifting the Jewish people בכל מקום שהם.

   

  You are making yiddishkeit authentic for so many that didn’t have it.  Because of you I am more hopeful for my kids generation.

  In the Shiur on מצה זו there was reference to קרן  not having It’s own מציות like a קרן זוית.

   

  Wondering if you had any thought about  if and how that fits with 

  וירם קרן לעמו and לישועתך מלכנו ....ותגביה קרננו

    Mantal illness: no normal advice. I think it is very consistent. We describe Moshiach's horn -- וקרנו תרום בישועתך. He comes from David.

    The keren of the Jewish people represents our eternity, due to our Bitul. What is why we ask about the Keren!

    That which occupies no space, and hence brings together all spaces.

  Brainstem is that part of the brain that goes thru the "magnum foramen" "big hole" - an opening in the bottom of the skull - where the brain above the opening becomes the spinal cord below the opening. 

  At the level of the first two vertebrae - ie the atlas and the axis, cervical one and cervical two - the spinal cord running thru them, although it already passed thru the magnum foramen, is still called the "brain stem" becuz the spinal cord at that high level of the spine is still such an integral part of and so connected to the brain, even though it passed thru the magnum foramen.

  Thoroughly enjoy your talks.

   

  Question:I watched the chassidus talk today about the lie of the river, non lasting experiences are not real. I understand this is physical terms but we all have spiritual experiences, of highs or feelings of tranquility, serenity, or even happiness from torah learning or meditation which fade. This is real, on the contrary the idea is to get back to that place, like the revelation on Har Sinai. These are real, true experiences. How can we differentiate between true experiences which fade and non true experiences which fade.

  As I'm writing this I am thinking of the sensation after it fades, is it empty or still full but yearning for more, in any event I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

  Who knows?

  Mordechai told Esther: "who knows? Maybe just for this (going in to Achachverosh uninvited at great r personal risk,  especially considering her predecessor, going in to save the yidden) you were chosen? 

  Today, in the Corona era, it is yidden again stepping up in the scientific and  medical field to find a cure  and in the political arena to manage the crisis  (Israel is safest place now they say, like the  Rebbe said in the gulf war) and for this unique worldwide crisis, the yidden were chosen. 

  "No atheists in Fox holes". The whole world is in a fox hole now. Current polls show people turning to prayer and Hashem as never before. 

  Our lifelong task is "borer", selecting the good from the bad. The current state forces everyone to select the good and the true from the rest

  Validation?      Rebbe didn't want it or need it?     What is it?     A shout out seems really good - to cheer for each other and validating that person.   What is validation?  Is it good, necessary?   Seems like it to me.
