Thank you so much for the class. I’m going to try to see people today through their silence instead of their Yeshush and bow down with bitul and respect to their infinity and then perhaps a little more Infinity will flow into myself.
I think what Yosef gets from the brother when they bow down to him, is the same as a mashpia gets from his talmid. We learned in the maimar in the summer.
We never end with birur sheini. We always have to come back again to birur rishon.

    Rabbi Jacobson,

A true leader, is involuntarily designated to the position despite his personal aspiration. Nevertheless, once “anointed” he strives to cultivate leaders w/i his community that will surpass his competency. This selfless act will ensure the message, business....will gain traction and continue beyond the leaders lifespan.

Assuming it’s really selfless...ASAP ... he quickly moves to an Island and doesn’t leave a forwarding address:)

    2nd point

Kohen who did the sacrifical service with gloves on.

    Respectfully

Binyomin. Your first paragraph speaks of the Rebbe. The other I don't know..

Certain Kohen's wore gloves when they did the avodah. ie they didn’t invest themselves in the nitty gritty of the momen.Such a leader can’t commiserate with inner world of their “followers“

The Rav mentioned the life guard example.

As usual the shiurim are GEVALDIG!

Today's shmooze after the morning shiur gave me a understanding why I always feel like jumping out of those places who are supposedly having "דערהויבענע רבי'ס"
Of course not all places, but (some)  many!!!
    Beautifully explained

    Two types of "hishtachavu"/bowing

The first when you submit to  the  other demonstrating some sort of  superiority. The second is  lowering oneself down to the other. As when chazal say to lower yourself down to a spouse who  is physically shorter.

Similarly there are stories of  Rebbex who had to find some sort of  shortcoming within themselves, albeit in  a  far more refined level, to understand and help the chosid with an issue.

In Botany, yes, most things have roots below.  But, the esrog grows with its roots above!

Yosef shows that we can holy in the corporate world and not build huge walls or shun it entirely as some do. MLK stood for no man made arbitrary discrimination (Hashem can and does) which accords with Torah.  Some monsey neighbors never heard of  him.

Ohr without a keli is nothing. The sun's rays do not give light in empty space, only give light and heat when they hit a kelk, i.e. a planet.

Notice every form of governmental system (democracy, autocracy   etc) all have a single person who leads and represents the  country vis-a-vis other countries.

"Only a  calf can think it can replace a Moshe". Right. Aaron didn't consider it. But the people could have!

Yes, Yosef took and gave back the grain to  the  people. But, they had to pay and pay until he amassed the entire fortunes of  everyone enabling the yidden to fulfill "emptying out Egypt".
