    Another shift to our neoroassociation

Another great debunking of a toxic myth engrained in our society.

    Thanks!

I believe the Rambam writes that if other religions

Can be considered as monotheistic, for THEM it is not Avodah Zora, or on breach of the 7 Noahide laws. (Its bad for a yid but not for them). Contrary to this are those other religions which worshipped many Deities. Bad for them  also.

Was Baal Peor a monotheistic or polytheistic religion. We aren't told either way in the Torah and that religion is gone today. If it was monotheistic, it really wasn't so bad for them. Plus, if it was montheistic, the scatalogical form  of worship for them wasn't so bad for them. The shiur says they worshipped the body's output, whereas they worshipped the statuette and the scatalogical manner of worship was just the means. We don't worship tefilla and didn't worship korbonos in the time of the Beis Hamigdash.

What is worship for some is lothesome sfor others

Think of a genuine vegetarian in the times of the Beis Hamigdash or even today. We sacrificed animals then and still eat then today. Korbonos were a form of worship and a Shabbos seuda or seudas mitzvah with bread, wine and meat is also part of yiddishkeit today. But, to the genuine vegetarian slaughtering or eating meat is loathsome.

Once again, with the aveirah of Baal Peor,

It appears that the women did not participate. Only the men were seduced by those women and then came to worship Baal Peor to meet their condition.
