Every stop along the way is part of the destination
Right. To bring a Korban, one must raise the animal, grow the wheat, plant the vineyard, etc. Every preliminary step is essential to achieving the ultimate goal. Knowing that every step of the journey is part of the destination gives comfort when the intermediate steps cause difficulties. The same is true for the trials and tribulations of each generation raising and preparing the next so that a generation will be there when Moshiach comes.

Every mitzvah needs preparation
But...the mitzvahs of shaluach Hakan (sending away the mother bird) must be done without foreknowledge. Same for the mitzvah of the forgotten sheaves. Others also.
