Thank you Rabbi. I have nothing profound, or of note, to contribute. I am very happy to have the opportunity to learn from you, in a most pleasing way. I feel bad that I am not able to attend services on this Holy Day, and yet thanks to you, I feel I can still reflect, pray, learn, and understand. I'm not Jewish - and it was during a search for the etymology of the word fish (dagah) that I found this. Indeed, I do believe you are correct.

Two fishes
Rabbi, thank you for this article. It is great, as always. I would like to ask you to comment out the fact that actually there were two fishes, male and female which swallowed Yonah. In the beginning Yonah was in male fish (dag), and he filled comfortable there. After that the male fish spewed out him, and female fish (dagah) swallowed him. Yonah filled unfortable there because the fish started to 'process' him. And only after that Yonah started to cry to G-d out and pray.

You are correct that the chassidic and spiritual dimension of the story of Purim doesnt change the facts of the "real world" that Haman was an evil Hitler, and Achashveirosh was a "foolish king", but if the Torah was indeed written by in Infinite G-d, then surely there are infinite layers of depth in it.
The same is true of our lives and the world around us. Sure it is real, but it is also only a reflection of higher G-dly energies and entities creating it.

this is the first time i have encountered such thought
it is definitly very interesting
but us here in this world can not live with those imaginations
we need to be realistic of the physical world
a ring as a ring a horse as a horse
if however we dont then all good may be evil and all evil may be good
as haman is greater then mordichai
nevertheless, if there is a way to be able to email the Rabbi with my thoughts i would greatly appreciate it much

a question
In the maamar the Alter Rebbe said it is not understood why the King gave his ring to Haman...but isn't it because the Jews ate at the feast of Achashveirosh and since they gave life to kelipa, perhaps that is why the king gave power to Haman...but when the Jews started the teshuvah process, then the King gave the ring and honor to Mordechai hayehudi...is that correct?

The 'porush' in the story of the Baal Shem Tov was a 'hermit.' The word porush literally means the 'one who separated himself,' and in this context it means the ascetic who denies himself any physical pleasure.
The Prushim, the Pharisees, of the times of the Gemara were the frum Jews who 'separated themselves' from the corrupt Tzdukim, Saduscees, who had hijacked the kingship and high-priesthood.
The Essenes were a radical break-away sect who were true ascetics, and even did not marry. Eventually, not surprisingly, they died out. The dead sea scrolls are believed to have come from the Essenes.

Porush=Essene?
Rabbi,
Can you explain the difference between the "perushim" Jews and the "essene" Jew.
Essene:
a member of an ascetic Jewish group that flourished in Palestine and Syria from the 2nd century bc to the 2nd century ad. Its members, consisting only of men, shared property, practiced celibacy, and observed the Sabbath.
I believe Yoshka's father was one.
