    Noach

Of all the species of animals mentioned by the Rabbi in this lecture, how many could Noach have welcomed into the Ark?

    wow

So I left the siyum hashas, on Wed. January 1, 2020, inspired - as I would imagine most people do... but then I got into the car to drive home to Baltimore for 3 hours.

Who better to listen to than to Rav YY.  I went to Yeshiva.net and found this shiur that Rebbi gave last night.
I probably would still be listening after everyone left and there is only me in the audience :)

To tie in a little to what Rebbi said... several years ago I was very much bothered as to why there are Keruvim bchlal - are they like idols? and why are they on top of the Aron.  Isn't the Aron the most important Keli with the Torah and Luchos in it? Nothing should sit on top of that! Even if we are to say that the Keruvim represent our relationship with HKBH, why were they specifically on top of the Aron in the Kodshei HaKodoshim?  Why the imagery of two people (two children) - as if they are equals? Why did Hashem choose that place from where to speak to Moshe Rabbeinu (Mibein Shnei Hakeruvim)?  Why not have HKBH's voice heard from the Aron - from where the luchos (and the torah according to that opinion) were, and have the Keruvim elsewhere - not mamash on top of the Aron?

More importantly, how does one reconcile the apparent contradiction in the pasuk - ופניהם איש אל אחיו אל הכפרת היו פני הכרובים.  Were the keruvim facing each other or were they facing the kapores?  The Rabbeinu B'chayei notes that the latter part of the pasuk is like a talmid learning before a Rebbi - and the talmid has his face looking downward because of fear.

Possibly - the pshat is the following.  It is well known that during davening we talk to HKBH, but during learning HKBH talks to us.

Hence, the imagery of the Keruvim - the image of two children - is an image of a chavrusashaft - where both children are learning.  So while their faces are truly opposite each other - they are actually looking down at the seforim and learning together.  Therefore the Keruvim have to be on top of the Aron because the imagery creates a matzav where two boys are learning from the luchos/Torah that is in the Aron just below their faces.  And it is from right between that chavrusashaft that Hashem speaks to us.

HKBH tells us if you want me to speak to you - you need to learn Torah with another - sit across the table from another person and look down at the text.  When you share Torah - that is where you will hear MY voice.  This imagery and lesson is truly the Kodshei HaKadoshim... its what keeps us alive throughout the generations - no matter what matzav... no matter where we are.  Any time you sit and learn with another - you transport yourself to the Kodshei HaKadoshim!

    the greatest ness...

According to the Rambam in More Nevuchim, the ness of the fall of the manna each day during 40 years was the greatest miracle. But it's true that the perpetual re-creation (becol yom tamid ) yech me aiyn is an incomparable ness which proves the unchangeable and infinite nature of God ( Ani lo shaniti ).

Adam harishon also had all the animals brought in front of him and there he was not teaching torah so the question remains why that miracle goes unoticed?
