    By Adam it was completely on a different level. The Mishnah there speaks of people like Haman, who were simply selfish. By Adam, there was an idealistic ambition: He wanted to be infinite as the Divine. Yet, like everything in the world, even the lowest manifestations of negativity originate in a sublime source.

  multifaceted shiur - a wealth of knowledge, resources, and presentation. Very robust teaching - kol hakavod!   Rabbi Jacobson said this was "one possible explanation." It does not account for all. if a child is taught all these things in an emotionally dysfunctional way, it may backfire. if a child lacks any tools to succsed in the "system," here too he may not endure. And so many other factors.
  yet i think we all see, that children who are taught to a geneuine set of values in a genuine and not dysfunctional and abusive way, it stays with them. sometimes it lay dormat but later in life it emerges in its full splendor.

  The Mishnah does list the serpent, as one of these.
  As far as Adam and Eve, maybe because they did lose everything. They were not killed. they still lived, but they only lost paradise. Where theother examples in the mishnah are of people who lost it all. According to the Midrash, Adam did do teshuvah, hence he was in a different category.

  1.Are you spoiled?
  Do you mean result of this process or process itself?
  Starting with former, I have to say that it is very common for a person to be a shrew and an angel in one… From the other hand, spoiling is the main mythology in raising children. Used in proper proportion with a set of counteractions it has a lot of benefits. No plant can survive without sun shining, so too, no child can thrive without unconditional love and dedication (at least conceptual). Modern parents gravitate to artificial warmers for their children with a slogan stating: “Any craving is better than crying!” Fortunately my parents know nothing about that, so they spoiled us with love…, and even let us cry from time to time, so by age of three my lunges were well developed for scuba diving, but I was spoiled with true love...
  Do you spoil your children?
  Like parents, like I.
  My personal contribution in this process did not excess twenty four seven limits as well.
  2.Why does the same word “keruvim” have such two opposite meanings in Genesis and in Exodus?
  Few days in a row watching of this class would not be enough to get the point how technically greed, selfishness, and arrogance lock beautiful creature from coming into Paradise.
  What my mind caught easily is the follow:
  Being as a milestone in history of Mankind “keruvim” has to pass from the lowest levelof evolution to the highest. To have craving to what is forbidden or limited is preconditioned in our nature; - otherwise we would never have Edison, Einstein, Korolev and other numerous Icarus, who make breakthroughs for us. Exodus would never happen unless following Genesis: so cherubim on the top of ark cover are nothing but improved version of cherubim in the Garden of Eden after long life journey of falls and successes, with full spectrum of mistakes and their challenges…
  3.What do you think is the greatest factor in turning children into “agents of destruction”?
  While we waist money and time for such nonsense as Global Warming, our children are suffering from Global Cooling of their surroundings. We trust our children to Uncle Sam’s systems of education. We allow statistic dictates what is good for their health. Following the slogan “Any craving is better than crying” we throw them one on one with industry of entertainment… We cover them with numerous virtual gifts when they need our personal inspiration, fair and firm attention, kisses and hugs…
  What is the key factor in turning children into angelic beautiful souls?
  “All we need is love; Love is all we need…”
  Deliver negative of previous answer and you will get the key.
  4.Having it all, why was Haman obsessed with Mordechai not bowing down to him?
  As I could understand from this class Haman was HUMAN that came from Genesis. As Neanderthalensis is a direct ancestor of Homo sapiens, so Haman is a direct ancestor of …UN. It calls HUMAN evolution.
  5.Are you satisfied with what you have?
  More or less but not to the point of being one with any of Keruvims’s parties
  6.Are you craving for more?
  From the toast of my favorite humorist Arkadiy Raikin, blessing memory: “ Let us have everything, but let us have one little thing that we would be lack of. And let us have craving for this little thing. And let our opportunities would always match our cravings (His softly sounded ‘deficit’ had nothing to do with greed, avidity, avarice etc.)
  7.Are you a control freak?
  The meaning of this expression is not clear: I heard it once from my son after I had stolen his car in order to stop his night parties in his early teens... Since that I am a loyal citizen, felony convictions free.
  The only thing that makes me freak is when I want to control my memory or my usual range of motions and fail to do that because of weakness of my muscles or my brain cells…
  What is it that you are really searching for?
  Even if I tell you would never believe.
  And what can you do about it.
  Can do nothing more than agree that you are right!

  Enjoyed the shiur (last night) below very much. The topic was very interesting and your explanation of Rashi’s interpretation on the “same Cherubs” was enlightening.
  
  It’s difficult for my wife and I to get out during the week with little kids so to sit at home quietly and listen together was a wonderful break.
  
  Looking forward to seeing more webcasts and learning more….

  a question
  But there are many kids being educated that there is a higher purpose, yiddishkeit is life, and one has to learn chassidus, do for others etc. Yet these kids also go off the derech and become agents of destruction! Why? how does that fit in with this concept?
