Good Evening Rabbi
This is not the first time I hear you explaining the truth of the commandments, the first being the anchor of all the rest and especially the sixth. I am a Jewish atheist, a devout atheist and a devout Jew. To me the "Anochi" is simply a postulate. Even the most devout of scientists believe in postulates and common notions. For you it is g-d, for me a simple, though deep, acceptance of absolutes. I totally agree that the "Anochi" refers to an absolute.
Mathematics is based on axioms (postulates and notions). Systems of axioms may differ, but generally what is axiom in one, is a theorem in another - and them the axiom itself may be proved. The sum total is still the same, and we prefer a set of axioms that is easiest to comprehend and extend. The US constitution is such an easy and extendable set of legal axioms and it is in complete agreement with our ten commandments.
There are forces in our land that seek to destroy the concept of axiom and with it the concept of g-d. They do not like inconvenient absolutes. For probably 100 years, they have slowly - using the salami method - diverted us from them, lately even away from logic. let's bring respectful absolutes, by any name, back to power.

Hey Dov!
I adamantly disagree with you on bringing back, to the USA, what you regard as ‘simple and deep absolutes.’ What makes them absolute?! because you decided that it is simple and deep? Well, we decided that whatever is ‘convenient,’ is an absolute! I am sure that what you see today as simple and respectful, is not what you saw all your life that way. So please honor us emancipated people from the free world, who see fit to identify as an absolute, that which is ‘convenient.’ Also, please understand Hitler, to whom killing was an absolute, as he wrote and said, “the human being too, has a lion that must kills the sheep!”
You see, without a Higher Power absolutes are not so absolute!
And by the way, you write: 'The US constitution is such an easy and extendable set of legal axioms and it is in complete agreement with OUR ten commandments.' What make them yours! because you came to the conclusion of some concept or another? why have you claimed ownership on it! since when do concepts have owners. (Why discriminate!)
You identify as a devout Jew AND a devout atheist?! What an identity crisis?!
Maybe it is time to gently drop the atheist part of yourself. [What is your fear? And how does being an atheist help you survive?] Tap into the devoted Jewishness that is within you! Reclaim what you truly hold to be true! And hold on to what IS YOURS (the Torah.) For the Living God, who is everything but a concept, has chosen you and gifted it to you!
Cheers
Brian
