What is being said about a good marriage is beautiful

But....what if the Cohen Godol had a bad marriage? The requirment that he be married on Yom Kippur doesn't necessarily mean that his marriage is a good one. Despite how Rabbi Yossi calls his wife..

Would that distract him on Yom Kippur or derogate from his concentration, kavana and avodah?

Rabbi Yossi said that his wife is his home

A wife turns a house into a home.

Hashem also made houses. He made the world. He allowed the Mishkan and Botei Migdash to be built. When empty and unused  those were his "houses".

But ...they were not yet his "home" until Hashem's "wife" turned those  houses into His "home". And His "wife" are the yidden.

This point was made before Rabbi YY made the same point later on.

The Cohen Godol must be married on Yom Kippur

Remember that one of the prohibitions on YK is to avoid intimacy.  How could he fulfill this negative mitzvah if he was not married?
