students questions
#1 [Religion] Hello,
From the little Judaism that I know, it seems that we are stuck with many primitive customs, like the Teffillin for men or the small candles on friday night? Do we really believe in 2020 this is how we should serve G-d and bring light to the world?
#2 [Anti-semitism] To Rabbi Jacobson,
The growing antisemitism in the world and especially by us in Europe (I live in England) made me think that perhaps we do encourage this hate by always sticking out and being different. Do you feel we are sometimes an arrogant minority?
#3 [Rebbe & Chabad]
Dear Rabbi,
As I hang around the Chabad Center and meet Rabbis or Boys of Chabad, I got a feeling that Chabad are a little overly obsessed with their Chabad things, campaigns, their “Rebbe” etc. I am somewhat traditional and do know there are many currents within Jews but it seems like Chabad feels some exclusivity to themselves? I mean, of course I know they help everyone and serve communities, but it feels like they see their Rabbi and their views as excluding others, above others. How do you explain this?
#4 [Corona]
The corona crisis is bringing so many catastrophes to the world, how can we be realistically positive when everything of our lives has been turned upside down? The World is becoming completely different in a negative way? What does G-d want from us?
