One small piece of a big puzzle Dear Rabbi Levi Garelik,
Thank you very much for new beginning on Yeshiva.net
Frankly speaking, it was not easy for me to keep on listening to your class and be as indifferent to new concept as a new clean slate.
Being taught so many times about his selfish personality, I could not easily put Korach into a category of TZADIKIM, just because you state he is. (Sorry, but I was ready to proclaim you as “a sophisticated serpent”, which uses Torah as an excuse to justify evil!) Even now I believe that your class is not exactly for the beginners… But what became clear for me by the end of your presentation is that your version of Korach’s tragedy can be used as a MOSHEL, best example to understand how ohri can be turned into keili. And this deserves time of listening to you!
“The building blocks of the cosmic order -- all that exists -- is comprised of ohros and keilim, energies (lights) and containers. (Ayin Beis Volume 1, Discourse 1, Chapter 2, p. 3-5)”
And later we learn how keilim itself is made of ohris, but from most intense of its parts together with Reshimi.
Before this class I had difficulty to visualize and get it, what actually is going on there? How the finest can turn into the coarsest.
Here is my conclusion. Sorry if I am wrong and didn’t get your objectives:
We forever are stuck with all- powerful concept of bittul and for those who prefer scientific approach and mathematical symbols to some degree(…) we may suggest the following formula:
Korach= Moses-B; or KELI= OHR - bittul
Is BITTUL has something in common with CHOCHMA? We’ll leave it for the next time.
Thank you very much!
Fascinating how its beauty comes from the Rebbe's teaching and consistent with Rashi, Rambam, Yalkut Shimoni, Sanhedrin etc. !
