Mirrored primal middos
Hashem's primal midda is to have a dwelling place down here, close to us, in the lowest of worlds.
Conversely our primal midda to have a dwelling place up there, close to Him, in the highest of worlds.
We each want to be close to the other in this Divine Marriage.
(of course His desire preceded our creation, our primal desire. He created the world with us on it to have a mirrored partner whose primal desire mirrors His. He desired a mate who desired Him so to speak. This primal midda of ours, however, is hidden and covered and must be revealed and refined).

How is this maamar
related to Parsha Shlach, or is it not related?

A baby or child simply wants. No reason
Moychin, as it develops and matures, starts to supply ever increasing layers of reasoning for wanting that which the primal midda wants. The more mature the more layers of intellectual layers of reasoning enveloping the primal midda that it covers. The act of peeling back those layers is what Moshe Lamm claims is getting to the innermost point about which there is no reason.
Ask a child why he wants it and he'll tell you just because. There is no reason. They are pure and moychin hasn't yet covered up

And all of this
that you are speaking about and teaching us is from Chassidus teachings, back to the Baal HaTanya? In Torah?

Middos are primal and peripheral
The primal essential fundamental midda is given by Hashem and doesn't change. The peripheral middos are our character traits which we must refine and improve. Elimelech of Lizennsk says this is the reason our neshama is reincarnated and comes down. (Others say we have a different but overlapping task).
There is no reason why we want what we want. It's just our innermost desire.
Hashem also has a primal midda, a fundamental desire that has no reason. No questions can be asked about a primal midda, a fundamental want.
What is Hashem's primal midda? A dira bitachtonim. A dwelling place down here in the lowest of worlds. He wants us to seek Him where He is hidden. No big deal for angels to seek him. This is our difficult hidden task.

If moychin, intellect, changes, but primal middos don't
And a person comprises both moychin and deep middos, it seems that a person is a combination of what Hashem installs (primal middos) and what the person adds thru the refinement and development of moychin.
It's a partnership
