Dear Rabbi Yoseph Yizchok Jacobson Shlit"a, I love this class. Especially the images you bring from stories of Rebbeim like the one of the Dubnov Maggid, Rabbi Yaakov Kranz, about the King's diamond. I like to see it as a Midrashic story where the King is THE KING of Kings. The diamond is our divine soul. The child is that yetzer in us, that willingly or inadvertently succeds in making us fail, sin, living a scar, a scratch. The experts are the science or techology teachings of the nations of the world, who can't grasp the nature of the scratch. Aaah...but the Yideleh Jeweller Craftsman...he's the Yiddishe Neshamah, the experienced Rebbe that shows us the depth in the Process of Teshuva according to His Will. The ugly "scratch", suddenly becomes the focus of our mind. Now that scratch prevents us from enjoying the previous light that used to emanate from the diamond. In our despair we look for solutions in the wrong places. We follow teachings that cannot help, voices that send us even deeper into the abyss. Until we hit Rock Bottom. And when from the deepest pits of our despair we shout and cry for help, and yearn for change, where only He Can Hear us, He hears us and Rescues us. Then He Sends The Yiddeleh Expert Diamond Cutter, a Rebbe, who like a Soul "Whisperer" guides us through Teshuva out of Love. The Chassid Rebbe like a diamond cutter knows the Art of utilizing the very scratch, the"deffect" in the soul to its advantage. It's called Teshuvah from Love, the Long Shorter road, is that process through which we work meticulously on ourselves digging deeper and deeper to where the Light of our Pure Neshama can Shine its brightest. Like the scrupulous carving and sculpting from the very scratch the shape which will allow the Brightest Light that would have being impossible to perceive, before the sin.

Merciful One Baruch HaShem
After I listened to this shiur, when I recited Shama, I realized HaShem is so merciful that even our sins can be One with Him.

Thank you for comfort Baruch HaShem
The relationship between Tashlich and water drawing is especially fascinating. Personally, I have committed so many grievous sins and it is truely because of those sins as you teach, I did not make a mistake or commit sin when I chose Orthodox Conversion. It is such a comfort and understand from my experience that I can reclaim my sins as catalyst to be closer to HaShem.

Jacob is neither or The 2 episodes MEM is referring to and that he calls not particularly courageous, strong or admirable actions were not initiated by Jacob; they weren't his own idea but his mother's. Still, I think that Thorah doesn't talk specifically about that single time frame that starts with Esav coming home from hunting very hungry and ending with he realizing that his birthright was usurped. It starts with both lads' birth and growing over a period of some 35 yrs. Over such period while Jakob was always home, helpfull to his parents and studying Thorah, Esav got married several time and always to unbecoming women. So, the patterns of behaviour over a life time are being rewarded or punished and not just couple of days.

Jacob is good? Re: the duality of a good Jacob and an evil Esau. Didn't Jacob take advantage of a famished brother to acquire his birthright and deceive a disabled father to receive the family blessing? In neither of these two episodes were his actions courageous, strong, or admirable. In contrast, what, exactly, does Esau do that is so terrible? I can almost envision the described duality as being reversed. thanks, mem

Beautiful i just Loved the entire Shiur. from my very first Succos, i felt connected to ALL of its Mitzvahs[ my life was saved in Newfoundland, because of a little leanto succah a created protecting me from a Blizzard, in fact, i Always built my Succah based on that life saving design. "Love" post stroke is a most powerful concept to me, my brain was wounded, but my heart has grown [similar to a blind person's[CH'V] increased senses of hearing and touch. i certainly hope that no one has any Aveiras, but that they can become assets is indeed consoling, especially after our Awe Avodas. it makes sense out of why Lubavitchers are so stubborn personally in their attachment to the Succah. Enough.... i just wanted to thank you and the team for your Weekly investment in the betterment of our lives! thanks

Resolution All my life I've questioned the connection between Rosh Chodesh Elul through Yom Kippur with Sukkos and never found or heard an answer that sat well with me. Until this shiur. Motzaei Yom Kippur my family members and I discussed this for over an hour (while eating), but nothing "niskabel al libi." Until now. It didn't make sense that Sukkos followed the Yamim Noraim without an intrinsic connection. The full circle with Simcahs Beis HaShoeivah is wonderfully enlightening and inspiring. Thank you. And thank you to Dovid and Eda for giving this gift to us. May Hashem Avenge the blood of the kedoshim of Mumbai. Gut Yom Tov to all. P.S. We need the Berdichiver very badly today.

Transformation Very clearly explained how sins can be turned into good deeds because you become stronger to the fact that we do make mistakes and pray for a chance to rectify them and connect to Hashem and do mitzvahs.
