It is a pleasure to hear how we can become a happier person by understanding how much Hashem loves us and helps us to heal this. Hè gave us everything to connect to eachother and Hashem. That makes us happy. One step at a time.

    Do you really think so?

Do you really think so? That when someone is thirsty, they don't know what they're thirsty for? They don't know why? They don't know the reasons? Seems that we really do know, deep down inside, but the person may be afraid to search for it. Or the person doesn't want to put the energy towards figuring it out. OR another  reason. But I think the person does know.

    Question for Rabbi YY

My daughter is feeling really anxious about socializing and her friends make fun of her because of her extreme cautious of social distancing, what would the Rabbi tell her? Please advice!

Life is alot more fun without fear.   The danger of Covid has pretty much passed from our area.  When did one hear of a case locally in the last several weeks?    children are not dying from Covid.  If there is a sick, very old or immunosupressed person in the house then there may be reason to still be careful.  There has not been one case of a teacher getting covid from a student.  I personally don't even like using the word covid becasue as the Torah teaches when one verbalizes something it gives strength to it.     Many people in the Jewish community have underlying fears and anxiety.  Perhaps it is becasue of our history, esp recent history ie having parents or grandparents who survived the 2nd world war and passed along the generations a deep anxiousness and deep fears.      Let go of the fear.  Go outside and breath the air - without a mask.   Laugh.   Sing.     I am afraid to cross the busy highway but it does not paralyze me to not cross - it teaches me to be careful and calculating and safe when i do cross.        There are many things to be afraid of in life yet to live constantly with that fear is paralyzing.    Don't let the mass fear of people send you into fear.    Your daughter's friends are clean and not sick - your daughter can feel comfortable with them.    How long will we let this fear rule our lives and our thoughts and consciousnesses?       Great leaders do not show fear.  Your daughter can follow their example.

GD helps those who help themselves...

This is something that I have believed all my life, and yet (now) I think maybe the focus on “those who help themselves" has always outweighed the “GD helps” part. I’m looking at it differently now.
