Thank you so much for this important shiur. Is it possible to receive a segment (the last part, the message for our lives)? Also, Rabbi Jacobson, if I could get your e-mail to be able to contact you I would very much appreciate it.

    Hi,

Can you please clarify that part about Rabbi Chananya  ben Tradion and Zimri, I learned that Rabbi Akiva was a gilgul of Zimri. Maybe a little off the subject of that class. But, I was discussing it with someone and am curious about this.

    thank you.

    Hello Again Rabbi,
Thank you again for the beautiful shiurim.  I have been thinking about Yiftach all week.  It seems, on a remez level, to be a story of shechina wanting to come out and us not being ready for her.  How lovely to consider Yiftach's daughter as shechina especially in light of the gilgul connection to Dina.  If only she had been let out for eisav... The two months can be remezim for the 2 batei mikdashim- when she was revealed to the world for a short time, and the four fasts work with the 3 about the horban and tzom gedalia.  Anyway, I just wanted to share my rumination and thank you again for the thought provoking class. May we merit to soon see shechina revealed in her glory.

Just one question: I’m trying to imagine if this story would happen today, don’t you think the whole Klall Yisroel would do everything possible to save this girl. Where was everybody? Great people lived then. How did Klall Yisroel allow him to go ahead with sacrificing his daughter?

Wow! What an incredible shiur this week. It was painful on the one hand, but profound and practical on the other hand. What a message!!

Small question, isn’t it strange that a holy Yiddishe neshama like Dina, was trapped in such a low gentile person as Kosbi? Somehow I always thought a Yid has a special soul, a cheilek Eloka mimaal, how can that go to a goy?

I guess it’s part of the unknown Divine world of gilgulim, I would just love to know if there is an answer...

Thank you for everything, and awaiting the day we can come and listen live... although I’m EXTREMELY grateful for the online shiur in the meantime!

    Years later

The verses seem to indicate that the news of Yiftach's daughter became well known and a source of mourning each year. According to the interpretation that she was alive but in solitary confinement, if it were so well known, would not Pinchas have heard as well and known the urgency of coming to Yiftach to dissolve, even if Yiftach himself hadn't volunteered the information himself initially? Why couldn't she have been taken out of her misery a few months or even a few years later?

What is your stance on vaccination? I see people worship either vaccinating or not vaccinating. Help!

Besides being totally forbidden to sacrifice children

isnt there a way to nullify a vow. Would he have known that?
