Good evening,
You mentioned in the Shiur that a half Shekel has the value of $3.50 based on the below article it would seem a half Shekel would be valued at close to $5.00library/article_cdo/aid/673063/jewish/Whats-the-value-of-the-biblical-half-shekel.htm

Haman gave equal amount of silver
To counterbalance the silver given by the yidden.
Goyishe kop! Maybe he should have given MORE than they gave. Majority rules. A tie is decided differently.
The half shekel is similar to modern crowd funding!
Question. If Yakov thought he was with Rochel on.the wedding night, and she conceived, his mind on Rochel. Was that a problem? Notice that he was tricked by Rochel and Leah just as he participated in the trick on Yitzchak. And later his sons tricked him with the bloody coat.
We are told currently to be positive, not to complain and kvetch. Yet when Pharoah meets Yakov and asks only about his age he responds with how hard his life has been.
