    Dear Rabbi,

Wow another amazing shiur. I always find in your shiurim somewhere I can connect to . At the end of the shiur your punch line awakened an old story of me that I would like to share with the public.

I grew up learning in Yeshiva, I always thought that I would be making a living teaching Torah. But, Hashem had different plans for me and after I got married I restarted the whole process and went for a higher education and became a professional.

I had a very good position in a private company, well paid but I needed to get a job in the profession in order to get my license. I found this guy who wanted to hire me. It was a long dating process (4 months at least) He finally hired me. I walked away from a good paying job to accept this new job with a big cut but it will give me my proper experience needed to rise in my career. I remember my older sister asking me if I have a contract with that new guy since I am giving up a good position. I answered her, "you don't know this guy, with him I don't need a contract, he is such a nice guy...)

I am not the type that would be an entrepreneur, I always envisioned myself working for someone else on a good paying position.

I started the position and excelled in my performance rapidly. I asked my new employer how I am doing and he would reply that I am doing great and he never had an employee to be so productive. He told me that I am capable to do in 1 day what the others do in a week. I felt so good. I was young in my career path and more importantly I felt I am on my dream job. I was only dreaming about keeping this job for the rest of my life until I retire.

After a very sort while, the morning after Yom Kipur as I walked in to the office, my boss tells me that I am being fired (for a reason that had nothing to do with me, it was disgraceful and didn't had to happen but here is not the place for it to elaborate, it was political motivated)and he wanted to fire me before but he didn't want to be מצער  me in עשרת ימי תשובה (I think this in it for itself would require a shiur that only the great Rabbi YY could elaborate, why people think that a day after yom kipur is better than a day before to do such acts)

That moment I felt my world is crashing down. After a few moments I gathered myself and sat into my car. I called up my wife and said the following words (yes, I still remember them) "#name# I got fired...I feel used and betrayed and I just made a resolution. If am so capable, I will not anymore build other peoples wealth, I will build my own....". I soon after that opened my own practice. It's now 15 years later I could not imagine having my life the way I have it, had I been working for others. B"H that moment that I felt my world is coming down was the start of such a good beginning that I never dreamed I have it in me.

Upon listening to this shiur, this story came back to me so I feel like sharing it and let this serve as a chisuk for others that what the Rabbi says is not just good speeches, ITS REAL!!!!

Thank you Rabbi, keep up the good work of being מחזק כלל ישראל

The source for the story you quoted in the Yerushalmi is not Taanit, but Berachot Chapter 2, Halachah 4.

My wife and I are looking foward to when you will again be teaching Likutei Torah. We continue to listen to your Likutei Torah classes of the last ten years. May God bless you with many many more years of spiritual and material success. May you always be blessed to merit to be a great source of inspiration and influence that you are.

    Barukh and Daniella Goldberg.

Here is the source of the story about the birth of Moshiach:
