    how does the idea of ein od milvado everywhere equally connect to the idea the that ikar shechina is in the beis hamikdash? is it a diff between g-d and g-dliness?

    הסר דאגה מליבך. גם אני לא מבין החשבון -הקבלי כלשונך- איך מיו"ד ספירות נתקבל רמ"ח :)  (בעצם הסברת זאת היטב ואני לא מבין מה אמרת שאתה לא מבין. אולי בגלל שהחשבון הוא  תשע ספירות? ואולי אתה חושב שלא הפנמת העניין?)

    וזה גם לא הדבר היחידי שאיני יודע

    Rabbi Paltiel, how then do you explain that so many tzaddikim have suffered and apparently been defeated by the forces of evil in the world? Evil had the power to torture them and take their lives from them. If by them ein od melvdo was true reality, how did evil get such power?



    Yeshaya Hanavie was killed; Zecarya hanavie; the millions during the Churban; the asarah harugei malchus, including Rabbi Akiva; the kedoshim throughout the dark years of the middle ages and then of course the 6 million, which includes saints and tzaddikim. Never mind all of the children who were snuffed out.



    It is here where it seems to me we pull the string in two directions: When we want we say that G-d is everything and nothing has power outside of Him. Yet sometimesd we will say, He gives power to other things...



    Please explain.

      The point of the Maamar was (in part) to explain that there are many levels and what is realistic for one in terms of Emuna is unrealistic for another.

      There is the absolute truth of Ain Od Milvado, yet we live this truth and deal with the cahllanges to it on different levels, depending on our own level of faith.

      Now to your question:

      A. Tzadikim doesn’t suffer at the hands of evil but at the hands of G-d. They have and would if they could vehemently object to anyone attributing their suffering to anyone but the [to the] loving hand of g-d. The stories abound to this affect.

      To give one relatively recent example: the holy Belzer rav once had someone repeat three times that he’d been wrong in saying that he, the Rebbe, (who lost 63 family members in the holocaust) had had a bad life.

      The suffering of Tzadikim has various explanations beginning with the concept of yesurim shel Ahava (which is clearly beyond the grasp of most ordinary people like ourselves), If the tzadikim themselves saw their suffering as from g-d we who can’t understand that should allow them to decide for themselves where their suffering came from and what it means.

      When a Yid suffers and especially when he is Moser Nefesh al kidush hasehm, this is not suffering but the highest act of Jewish connectedness to G-d. we don’t know the ways of g-d but when Yidden suffer it’s not the world gone amuck but the desire of our creator for us to give Him of ourselves what is completely beyond our ability to comprehend.

       The Rebbe said publicly at a farbrengen the following two statements (on two different occasions):

      A. I object to referring to the holocaust as genocide; it was instead six million Jews going to sanctify the name of G-d publicly.

      B. My father had the z’chus (merit) to suffer yesurim physically.

      Now, this medicine wouldn’t exactly work for all (or even most) people, that is why we live our lives on a lower level of “Ain Od Milvado” but it doesn’t change the absolute truth.

           Rabbi Zeligson’s Mafteiach has already bourn real fruit:

          1) The quote about the holocaust: Toras Menachem 5745 Vol. 2 page 1045.

          2) The quote about the Rebbe’s father (and I think you should get ahold of the tape and listen to what and how it was said: Toras Menachem 5751 vol. 4 page 153 near the bottom of the page.

          3) The story of the Heiliger belzer Rav appears in a biography on his life called”Bakodesh Pnima” on top of page 30.

    It is not clear still what it means that Eyn Od milvado means Hashem is  even in impure places: how does that work? we know Hashem "hates" evil and impurity. So how do we reconcile all this?

      See Likutei Sichos vol. 4 p. 1340-2 and footnotes 14, 15, 17 and all the sources sighted there.

      Please learn the material there with patience as it is quite sensitive and subtle.

       Based on the writings of the Frierdike Rebbe we know that all the Rabbeiim were very organized and kept journals of important ideas and stories (as well as personal ideas etc.) . The document to which I referred the Frierdike Rebbe himself copied from a copy of the original.
