שמעתי היום התוועדות של י"ט כסלו משנת תשע"ד ושם אמרת דברי הבעש"ט על הפסוק קל נקמות ה' קל נקמות הופיע, ובתמצית הביאור היה דהאופן שהקב"ה מראה נקמתו אינו ע"פ פירוש הפשוט של נקמה ועונש, אלא דכל חסרון בעולם בא מפני שאין שורה עליו אור אין סוף, והוא חסר קשר אם אלקות, וא"כ האופן שהקב"ה מראה נקמתו הוא ע"י זה שהוא ית' מופיע אל האדם, ומראה אותו אור של אלקות ואז שהקב"ה מופיע לו הכל מתוקן ע"י אור זו. והנה בי"ט כסלו של שנה זו שמעתי את התוועדות אשר אמרת דברי הרבי ז"ל לבאר התחלת הגלות ממה שראובן היה עוסק בשקו ותעניתו , ואין מקומי לכתוב ביאורים ארוכים רק אשלוח את המראה מקום ודי לחכימא ברמיזא, עי' בשל"ה הקדוש תורה שבכתב מאמר צאן יוסף על פרשיות וישב מקץ ויגש, והביא שם דמה שאמר ראובן אני אנה אני כו' התיבות אנ"י אנ"ה הם ראשי תיבות ק"ל נקמו"ת ה' ק"ל נקמו"ת הופי"ע, ולפי מה שביררת הופיע הוא גילוי, ונכלל בגילוי אלקות ואהבה מהקב"ה הוא אהבת ישראל דהיינו אוהב מה שהאהוב אוהב יותר אהבת ישראל, וא"כ אפשר שאמר דאם היה לו כראוי הענין של הופי"ע לא היה אירע דבר זה

WOW! That was my reaction after hearing the vort on וימאן you said at the Torah Umesorah convention. I saw the video. The whole speech was great but that vort especially got me. I've told it over to many people since and they also were very taken by it. What is the source for that amazing vort? I write Divrei Torah every week and I'm always curious to know sources. Here is a small excerpt I wrote:
Reb Nosson of Breslov says that Yosef Hatzadik represents the tzadik that lowers himself to pick up lost souls. (Likutei Halachos, Hashkamas Haboker, 4:16) This is hinted to by his name, יוסף equal to 156, which is 1 less than the gematria of י׳ טפחים (157), because he can raise up these neshomos, as it says, וישראל אהב את יוסף מכל בניו כי בן זקנים הוא לו ועשה לו כתנת פסים.

hints that he is most loved because he can bring those below י׳ טפחים up to the level of זקן (which has the same value), just as we do with the 36 lights of the Menorah hinted to here by the word לו. ועשה לו is equal to זית, and the first letters of, ועשה לו כתנת פסים, are the letters ל״ו פך, alluding to the 36 lights and the flask of oil. ל״ו פך is also equal to 136 which ממון, קול, צום all equal, and whose first letters spell מקץ, and as is known Chanuka is the Gmar Chasima of the judgment period that started Rosh Hashona.
