This class, in Likkutei Sichos vol. 4 Parshas Korach, was presented on Thursday, Parshas Korach, 3 Tamuz, 5783, June 22, 2023, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY.
It was on Shabbos Korach 61 years ago, in 1962, when the Rebbe revealed the inner depth of what was Korach's mistake.
As it turns out, Korach grasped one of the powerful ideas of Chassidus: The power of physical actions in the physical world. He glorified the technical and physical rituals of Judaism. But when you lose the soul, you can end up in the abyss.
The Rebbe, in this historical Sicha, explains the two common errors people can make: The mistake of the spies who shunned the physical world; and the mistake of Korach who thought you can divorce Yiddishkeit from inner spiritual and emotional work.

korach complained that some are exalted over others
but, he didn't mind being a yid who are the chosen people?! a true egalitarian should say all humanity are equal.

behind it. that's why actual physical creation is ggreater than the thought to create the world. we live in the actual world not in the thought behind it

half the Torah is mitzvos Bain Adam lechavero. those applied in the midbar as well, plus a few mitzvos Bain adam lemokom

creation is to transform the world. Why weren't the yidden in the midbar being prepared for this by planting etc in the midbar? it's not prep for the battle with gashmious by being in Gan eden?

when the gezera that all men over 20 would die in the desert? and so korach was not part of those sentenced to die? therefore no complaint
