  ע"פ דברי הרבי זי"ע בביאור בדבריו הקדושים של המגיד במלאכים ממש מובן היטב מה שהספרים הקדושים מפ' כי חלק ה' עמו יעקב חבל נחלתו בעיקר הנשמה נשאר למעלה ורק זיו והארה הוא למטה בגוף האדם . ולפי דברי הרבי ביאור הוא אינו חיסרון בהנשמה למטה אלא הא גופא ע"י שיסוד הנשמה למעלה מימלא יכול להשפיע ולעשות עבודה למטה.

  I found the idea of the maggid explained by the Rebbe (nekudah about shluchim) explained in:

  medresh shmuel avos perek 1 and 7
  

    וה"ר משה אלמושנינו ז"ל כתב וז"ל ראוי שנדע למה בשכן רע לקח לשון הרחקה וברשע לשון התחברות ובראשון בלשון חיובי ובשני שוללי ולא אמר ברח מחברתו הרשע או הרחק מחברתו בל' חיובי לפי שכאשר יתחבר הרשע לאיש השלם שתבא התעוררות החברה מפאת הרשע אז יהיה הרשע טפל שהוא המתחבר והשלם הוא עיקר אשר אליו יתחבר ואז ראוי לקבלו אולי יחזירהו למוטב והוא מצוה רבה לעשות נפש אחת מישראל ועל כן הזהיר שהתחברות עם הרשע לא יהיה באופן שהוא יהיה המתחבר אליו כי אז יהיה הוא הטפל והרשע הוא העיקר אשר אליו יתחבר יען לא היתה תנועת ההתחברות מהרשע ובכן יגיע לשלם נזק גדול מחברתו בלי ספק וז"ש ואל תתחבר לרשע ר"ל לא תהיה אתה המתחבר אליו כאמור והוא דקדוק נכון עכ"ל:

  Those of us on the site missed most of the class until we tried zoom. Question:

  It seems from the last few minutes I caught that the Maggid was saying to go out and spread the word. Don't be affected. 

   But, all the chasidic groups came from the Baal Shem Tov yet, to be honest, only one really took the message to go out and spread the word seriously.  And even then it was only on the latter years. 

   And that group was first mocked until, as the expression goes, imitation became the most sincere form of flattery. 

    Just note the battle for public menorah years ago.

    Still most of the current imitators are litvish, not at all students of chasdidus. The other chasidic groups, descendents of the Besht and the Maggid,  still keep their distance from non frum yidden (how much moreso nonjews who are told by spreaders of the Maggid's message,  about the Sheva mitzvahs) and still maintain their huge walls, more effective than the one with Mexico.
