It was said that in golus, free choice is curtailed
Which makes sense. A prisoner is not free to do as he pleases. His movements and schedule are restricted or dictated. It is living under compulsion. But not his thoughts.
True about our general state of golus as well. Especially psychologically. Not only we alive today (at least most of us) but for 2,000 years now we have been living with a golus mentality. It feels normal. It isn't true for a few who an see beyond. "Open your eyes".. Rubashkin was in a place they call prison but he didn't let it affect his yiddishkeit
Certainly the yidden in mitzrayim were in golus with free choice restricted. Ironically, Pharoah, who enslaved the yidden eventually had his free choice removed.
The Frierdericker Rebbe in prison showed that golus or jail might restrict certain aspects of life but can never totally eliminate free choice. Ditto the Alter Rebbe who needed to say kiddush kavana.
A point was made that once one has seen more, realized more, gone deeper, experienced more, one cant go back to the situation and mentality before that experience
Chana daveed "al" Hashem. "On" Hashem. Reflexive form of verb. She davened to herself, to the soul, the part of Hashem within her. And in so doing, set the template for tefilla going forward.
Later in the gemora shiur, it was said that that one can designate a korban, a specific korban that, if damaged, need not be replaced. Or, one can obligate ones self to bring a korban, which must be replaced if the first damaged. . Also "Alav", the same reflexive form "upon one's self", not upon the object.

Very depressing Mamar. First one has to get rid of any bit of self as he says that it is impossible to be a kli kibul unless one purifies himself from any connection to the vanities of this world (even things that are permittied). Then once one reaches that level your not done yet and still need "lasis etzos benafsho" to the level of complete mesirus nefesh and then you could arouse the Rachamim as he says that our request is to not drown in this world - if one is still choosing to be connected to this wolrd (and is still like the dirty kli) how could he have the audacity to ask for rachamim (to pour wine into my unclean vessel). Sounds like a Mamar only for someone like chana, not someone like myself.

Just a quick note; today in the Chassidus Shiur you came upon a Roshei Teves of Beis Pay Ayin בפ״ע.
I just want to point out it reads as: בפנימיות עצמותו
In the new print they wrote it on the bottom of the page in the name of the Rebbe Rashab.
