This is a text-based class on the Hadran of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the Mishnah Torah of the Rambam, delivered by the Rebbe at the farbrengen of 19 Kislev 5735-1974. This is class four in the series, "The Ultimate Halachik Man." The class explains the meaning of the words of the Rambam, "Even if the world would cease to exist, G-d's existence would not cease." Why would we think otherwise? Why would G-d be obliterated by the demise of the cosmos? As it turns out, the Rambam is indeed teaching us a novel idea about the identity of G-d as a Creator. He can be a Creator even without a creation.

Referring to the discussion on footnote 34, an electrical power system (see the accompanying diagram) is a possible approximate analogy for the 3 levels of Ayno Motsoi, Motsoi, and Motosoi Rishon:
1.Electricity is generated from a source in which it effectively does not exist: wind, water (a dam or waterfall), nuclear fuel, coal, the sun’s rays. This is Ayno Motsoi.
2.The generators “create” electricity which exists as a very high voltage current. But this electricity is far too “pristine” for any appliance to use as its power source. This is Motsoi.
3.The electricity passes through transformers which reduce its intensity so that it can feed factories and homes. This is Motsoi Rishon, after the Light (the Ha’orah) has been nimshach and mislabesh in Shoresh ha Ne’etsolim.
The appliances powered by this third level are the Nivroim.
