    taking off the shoe
If a couple is planning to get married, should the man or woman take of their shoe at the time of engagement to raise it to an act of holiness and to bless the marriage?

      Re: taking off the shoe
There is no need for it during a marriage. The term used for marriage in Jewish law is "kedushin," which comes from the term "kedusah," holiness. This is because the very act and experience of marriage is an act of holiness; marriage in Judaism is holy and sacred.

    A Positive Eulogy
Perhaps the version that I heard will be of interest:

The despised criminal and informer had a son who did his best to out-do his father in hateful deeds, and succeeded. Then the father passed away, and when the needed eulogy was said, it was that "compared to his son, this man was a tzadik!". Years later, when the son passed away, the Rabbi found himself in the same predicament. What would even the father's eulogizer find positive to say about the son?!

Nevertheless, the eulogizer told the Rabbi not to worry, he had everything under control. When the time came to say the eulogy at the funeral, he got up and said: "Only because of the deeds of this man were we able to do the Mitzva of burying the dead, by his father..."

May we all be blessed with only Joy and Happiness, and the coming of Moshiach, Now!

    To Bracha
Please do not use UPPERCASE when writing. In the world of text doing that is considered shouting and rude. We all have an equal voice here and dont need to yell.
